This volume is a record rather than an argument. It gives a master table of every Heathkit television found in the catalogues, the accessories and the assembled Zenith sets sold alongside them, the manual editions traced with the evidence the project needs for its hosting rule, and the catalogues on which the whole dive rests.

6.1 How the table was built

Each row was built from the Heath catalogues and flyers on World Radio History, searched page by page. Most scans have a text layer. Those without one (1988 and 1990) were read by OCR, and a handful were read from rendered page images. “First” and “last” are the first and last catalogues found in which the model is offered with a price. Because the surviving run of catalogues has gaps, a year in the table can be a year later (first) or earlier (last) than the true date. The gaps that matter are 1961–62, 1965 (one flyer unread), 1970 (one catalogue unread), 1973, 1976 (Christmas) and 1989. “Launch price” is the price in the first catalogue found, for the kit without cabinet unless stated. Where a model was already reduced when first found, the earlier price given in the catalogue is used and marked.

Gaps and doubts. The GR-53’s introduction is dated by Schlumberger’s 1963 report and by Electronics Illustrated, but no 1963 catalogue page showing it has been examined. The first catalogues for the GR-180 and GR-227 and for the AFT models fall close to years with unread catalogues, so their first years may be a year early or late. The GR-400 and GR-300 were already on sale before Christmas 1975. The GR-2701’s first appearance falls in 1989, a year with no catalogue examined. The Nostalgic Kits Central matrix lists a GR-2033 in 1981 and a GR-9009 from 1969 to 1976. Neither is supported by any catalogue examined, and both appear to be errors.

6.3 Manuals and documents

The project’s rule (decision 5 in the Heathkit project notes) is to host a manual only where it is likely to be in the public domain. That means published before 1964 without a renewal, or published without a copyright notice before 1 March 1989 (and, for 1978–89, not registered within five years). Everything else is linked. For each title below the record gives the year, what was seen of a notice, and the renewal position. No copyright renewal search has been done for any title in this dive. No manual has been downloaded into the project.

Hosting position. None of the titles above qualifies under the pre-1964 rule. Those with a notice seen are link-only. Two are candidates for the no-notice rule, subject to an examination of every page image and a registration search: the GRA-2000-1 clock manual (1974) and the GR-180 sales flyer. The flyer counts as advertising under decision 5. Heath’s current owner claims copyright in all Heath publications “whether or not marked”, and the project’s takedown posture applies (company history, volume 7).

A note on dating the “1963 Supplement”. World Radio History files one scan as “Heathkit-1963-Supplement-80-33”. It combines pages of different dates. The pages carrying the GR-53A at $375.00, the GR-25 on reservation and the GR-22A at $169.00 include a “News and Views” page listing trade shows for March and April 1966, a letter from C. M. Kirkland reviewing 1965, and a reference to the 1966 National Science Teachers Association convention. Those pages are cited in this dive as an early-1966 flyer. The GR-25 set itself was introduced in late fall 1965, according to Schlumberger’s annual report.
